    Jackson County, Ore. 2 August 24- Oregon State Police has received multiple reports of persons receiving calls from individuals impersonating Oregon State Troopers.Oregon State Police wants to remind the public that Oregon State Police does not ask for bank account information, credit card information, or any other form of payment information required to complete a financial transaction via phone call. In addition to account information, investigators will not request personal information required to access financial institutions. Please remind your loved ones and those vulnerable to these type of scams that law enforcement will not attempt to resolve arrest warrants by financial payment- especially over the telephone.     Targeted mission in downtown Portland nets more than 240 grams of fentanylPORTLAND Ore. 30 July 2024 – Recently, Oregon State Police and the Portland Police Bureau partnered on a drug enforcement mission targeting drug dealers in downtown Portland. The mission resulted in ten arrests for distribution of fentanyl.  The Wednesday, July 17, 2024, mission was part of an ongoing effort among the two agencies to disrupt fentanyl use and distribution in the city. The mission brought together PPB’s Central Bike Squad, OSP’s Drug Enforcement Section, and Mobile Response Team which has been deployed for downtown Portland enforcement efforts since October 2023. Since its initial deployment, the team has completed more than 40 missions. During the operation, the interagency team seized 243.3 grams of powdered fentanyl, 2.6 grams of methamphetamine, $2,131 in U.S. currency, and one firearm.     Columbia County, Ore. 26 July 24- On Friday, July 26, 2024, at 8:08 a.m., Oregon State Police responded to a three-vehicle crash on Hwy-30, near milepost 51, in Columbia County.The preliminary investigation indicated a westbound gray Kia Soul, operated by Bridget Ann Connell (54) of Scappoose, was attempting to make a left hand turn into Valley Veterinary Clinic when it was rear ended by a westbound white GMC Sierra, operated by William Eugene Howard (56) of Rainier. The collision pushed the Kia into the eastbound lane where it was struck head-on by an eastbound black Dodge Journey, operated by Jennifer Lynn Huff (33) of Westport.The operator of the Kia (B. Connell) and passenger, Nyx Ariel Connell (47) of Scappoose, were declared deceased at the scene.The operator of the GMC (Howard) suffered reported minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.The operator of the Dodge (Huff) and passengers, a six year old male and ten year old female, suffered reported minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital.The highway was impacted for approximately six hours during the on-scene investigation.     Polk County, Ore. 23 July 24- On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 6:17 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to two-vehicle crash on Hwy-22W, near milepost 20, in Polk County.The preliminary investigation indicated an eastbound Chrysler Sebring, operated by Mary Louise Nathe (73) of Salem, attempted to turn left onto Oak Grove Road and entered the path of a westbound Ford Expedition, operated by Karen Jean Bell-Stanerson (53) of Salem. The Ford struck the passenger side of the Chrysler in a side-impact collision.A passenger in the Chrysler, Amanda Rose Nathe (41) of Salem, was declared deceased at the scene. The operator of the Chrysler (M. Nathe) was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital.The operator of the Ford (Bell-Stanerson) suffered reported minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.The highway was impacted for approximately five hours during the on-scene investigation.     Linn County, Ore 21 July 24- On Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 2:09 a.m., Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5, near milepost 222, in Linn County.The preliminary investigation indicated a northbound Lexus GS, operated by Isael Garcia (23) of Woodburn, rear-ended a northbound Toyota Camry, operated by Justin Michael Palmer (37) of La Center (WA).The operator of the Toyota (J. Palmer) suffered reportedly serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. A passenger in the Toyota, Scott Alan Palmer (53) of Camarillo (CA), was declared deceased at the scene.The operator of the Lexus (Garcia) suffered reportedly minor injuries. Garcia was medically cleared and arrested for DUII.The highway was impacted for approximately six hours during the on-scene investigation.     Clackamas County, Ore. 21 July 24- On Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 1:45 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a three-vehicle crash on Hwy-26, near milepost 32, in Clackamas County.The preliminary investigation indicated a westbound Volkswagen Tiguan, operated by a female juvenile, entered the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons and struck an eastbound BMW 540, operated by Matthew Dorsett (32) of Redmond (WA), head on. The BMW spun into the westbound lanes and was struck by a westbound Tesla T3, operated by Renee Ann Dejarnatt (40) of Portland.The operator of the BMW (M. Dorsett) and passenger, Claire Elise Kidd Dorsett (31) of Redmond (WA), were declared deceased at the scene. The operator of the Volkswagen (female juvenile) suffered reported minor injures and was transported to a local medical center.The operator of the Tesla (Dejarnatt) suffered reported minor injuries and was transported to a local medical center.The highway was impacted for approximately six hours during the on-scene investigation.     Hood River County, Ore. 18 July 24- On Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 12:45 a.m., Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 84, near milepost 54, in Hood River County.The preliminary investigation indicated a westbound Ford Econoline AMR Ambulance, operated by Amanda Hancock (42) of Benton City (WA), left the lane of travel and struck a Chevrolet Camaro, operated by Geraldean Edna Martin (55) of Portland, while it was disabled on the side of the roadway with a flat tire. The Chevrolet operator was outside of the vehicle at the time of the collision.The operator of the Chevrolet (Martin) was declared deceased at the scene.The operator of the Ford (Hancock) and passengers, Amy Ann Young (28) of Pasco (WA) and Jonathan David Farmer (23) of Pendleton, were not injured during the collision. Farmer was a patient in the ambulance at the time of the crash.The highway was impacted for approximately four hours during the on-scene investigation.     JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ore. 16 July 2024 – Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife is investigating the unlawful take and waste of a mule deer doe. On June 13, 2024, Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife troopers received a report of a dead mule deer doe shot with an arrow. The doe was found in the area of NW Hart Street in Madras. The doe had likely been killed the same day and left to waste. The specific location where the deer was shot is not known. The Fish and Wildlife Division is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for killing the doe.     Curry County, Ore. 14 July 24- On Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 11:40 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 101, near milepost 298, in Curry County.The preliminary investigation indicated a southbound Ford F250, operated by James Franklin Mickelson (36) of Sixes, left the roadway for unknown reasons, traveled approximately 400 feet through a field, and struck a tree. The collision caused the vehicle to become engulfed in flames.The operator of the vehicle (Mickelson) and passengers, Joseph Frances Kurka (20) of Sixes and Dereck Eugene Stroop (35) of Port Orford, were all declared deceased at the scene.The highway was not impacted during the on-scene investigation.     Klamath County, Ore. 13 July 24- On Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 7:22 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy-62, at the intersection with Sun Mountain Rd (MP 91), in Klamath County.The preliminary investigation indicated a Ford Expedition, operated by Tina Marie Wickliffe (53) of Chiloquin, was traveling southbound on Sun Mountain Road at a high rate of speed and was unable to stop at the intersection with Hwy-62. The Ford traveled through the intersection and struck the embankment on the opposite side of the highway.The operator of the Ford (Wickliffe) was not wearing a seatbelt and was declared deceased at the scene.The highway was impacted for approximately an hour during the on-scene investigation.     Yamhill County, Ore. 11 July 24- On Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 9:53 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy-221, near milepost 9, in Yamhill County.The preliminary investigation indicated a northbound Ford Ranger, operated by Zakary Ross Nasby (26) of Newberg, left the northbound travel lane onto the shoulder and overcorrected back across the roadway before leaving the roadway and striking a tree.The operator of the Ford (Nasby) was declared deceased at the scene. The operator did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt.The highway was impacted for approximately 3.5 hours during the on-scene investigation.
